Welcome to the Foreign Students' College

Our College was established in 1991 as a facility of the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences (HSZG).
Here, students from many foreign countries, with a great range of religious and political beliefs and from widely differing educational backgrounds receive a variety of courses aimed at one and the same goal – preparing them for taking up a course of study at HSZG or another Saxon university.

We thus set out to:

give non-German applicants, who are in possession of a foreign university entrance certificate, the necessary language and specialist skills required to pursue studies in the Federal Republic of Germany.

make non-German applicants aware of and familiar with the academic and scientific methods habitually used at German universities.

administer the requisite aptitude tests (FSP) and German language exams (DSH).

We do not facilitate external FSP/DSH examinations.

Tasks of the preparatory college

to provide foreign applicants with a foreign higher education entrance qualification with the language and subject knowledge required for higher education studies in the Federal Republic of Germany
to familiarize applicants with the academic methods commonly used at German universities
to take the assessment test (FSP) and the DSH

No external examinations (FSP/DSH) are conducted at the Studienkolleg of the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences.
